Backup for outages

Tick the devices you need during an outage and how many hours it lasts — and right away the battery capacity, the inverter power and how many panels bring that energy back in a day.

How long the outage lasts

What you get

  • —energy for the outage
  • —nominal battery capacity
  • —modules
  • —inverter
  • —power / surge
  • —panels to recharge in winter
  • —battery with inverter
  • —generator fuel for the same

What the calculation assumes
  • LFP battery: 90% of the capacity is usable, inverter efficiency 92%.
  • Module — 5.12 kWh (51.2 V, 100 Ah).
  • Inverter — with a 25% margin for the starting currents of pumps and compressors.
  • Recharge — how many kW of panels bring back the energy of one outage in a day of the darkest month.
  • Generator for comparison: a diesel uses 0.30 l per kWh at full load and 0.45 at a quarter (dealer’s table); the top of the range allows for low load and petrol, whose consumption the source does not check.
